Audio Lab AF support

Angry Face Labs

What it does

Audio Lab AF is a Mac workstation for one finished song at a time. Open a mix, hear it, see it, and understand it the way a mastering engineer would: tempo, key, time signature, song structure, instruments, loudness and true peak, plus EQ, compression and limiting, lyrics and basic tags. When you like what you hear, Bounce prints the processed master to a new file.

System requirements

macOS 27 or later.

Getting started

  1. Press Cmd+O and choose a song.
  2. Or right-click a song in Finder and choose Open With, then Audio Lab AF.
  3. Or drop a song on the app window or on its Dock icon.

The app opens any audio your Mac can decode, including WAV, AIFF, MP3, FLAC and M4A/AAC. Pick a function in the bottom bar (Understand, Lyrics, Tags, EQ, Comp, Limit) and its tools appear on the canvas above it.

FAQ

Which formats can it open?

Anything the system can decode: WAV, AIFF, MP3, FLAC and M4A/AAC.

Which tags can it write?

MP3 (ID3v2.4) and FLAC (Vorbis comments). Save writes into the file in place.

Why are WAV tags read-only?

By design. The app reads the tags a WAV file already has and shows them, but it writes tags only to MP3 and FLAC, so a WAV file is never changed by a tag edit.

Where does Bounce write?

Bounce (Cmd+B) asks you where to save, and writes only there. Formats: WAV (16-bit, 24-bit or 32-bit float), FLAC (16-bit or 24-bit), or AAC at 256 kbps.

Why does the first open of a song take longer?

The app analyzes the song on your Mac the first time, which takes a few seconds. The results are cached, so opening the same song again is quicker.
